چکیده
Application of Chitosan (CH) and salicylic acid (SA) in controlling the fungus Botrytis cinerea that causes gray mold on tomato fruits is a successful safe alternative approach to chemical pesticides. were applied as Pre-harvest treatment at concentration 2000 mg/l 250 mg/L under field conditions three different ripening stages Turning, Pink, Light Red determine best stage for application. The was determined enhancing plant defenses against pathogen studying effect factors levels some enzymes related induction resistance, such peroxidase enzyme POD PAL enzyme. application SA CH had significant increasing activity level both enzymes, with revealed an increase treated plants fruit maturity (Turning, red), where 17.33, 16.72 15.5 min /gm. enzyme, it recorded 12.27, 12.12, 12.1 min/gm fresh weight, affected which 32.27, 31.53, 31.87 mg/gm stages, respectively. did not differ extending shelf life reducing losses depending rate healthy end storage period 25°C. mg-1/L differed significantly from other concentrations inhibiting pathogenic fungus, well salicyac superior its effectiveness compared concentrations. However, chitosan biofilm formation B. cinerea, displayed average absorption degree 0.53 (OD), while affect fungal formation, 1.2 (OD) control treatment.

Streptomyces nobilis C51 Suppresses Gray Mold Caused by Botrytis cinerea in Tomato
This study sought to develop a biological control agent against gray mold disease caused by Botrytis cinerea in tomato using a strain of Streptomyces, which showed significant antagonistic activity against B. cinerea. Such strain (C51) was screened by dual culture method from a total of 78 actinomycetes and was identified as Streptomyces nobilis by morphological, biochemical and molecular analy...
متن کاملInhibitory effect and possible mechanism of a Pseudomonas strain QBA5 against gray mold on tomato leaves and fruits caused by Botrytis cinerea
The fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea causes gray mold disease on various hosts, which results in serious economic losses. Over the past several decades, many kinds of fungicides have been used to successfully control the disease. Meanwhile, the uses of fungicides lead to environmental pollution as well as a potential threat to the human health by the chemical residues in tomato fruit. Also, the...
متن کاملEffectiveness of Different Classes of Fungicides on Botrytis cinerea Causing Gray Mold on Fruit and Vegetables
Botrytis cinerea is a necrotrophic pathogen causing a major problem in the export and post-harvest of strawberries. Inappropriate use of fungicides leads to resistance among fungal pathogens. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the sensitivity of B. cinerea to various classes of fungicide and to determine the effectiveness of different concentrations of commonly used fungicides. We thus eval...
متن کاملInduction of systemic resistance to Botrytis cinerea in tomato by Pseudomonas aeruginosa 7NSK2: role of salicylic acid, pyochelin, and pyocyanin.
The rhizobacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa 7NSK2 produces secondary metabolites such as pyochelin (Pch), its precursor salicylic acid (SA), and the phenazine compound pyocyanin. Both 7NSK2 and mutant KMPCH (Pch-negative, SA-positive) induced resistance to Botrytis cinerea in wild-type but not in transgenic NahG tomato. SA-negative mutants of both strains lost the capacity to induce resistance. O...
متن کاملAbscisic acid determines basal susceptibility of tomato to Botrytis cinerea and suppresses salicylic acid-dependent signaling mechanisms.
Abscisic acid (ABA) is one of the plant hormones involved in the interaction between plants and pathogens. In this work, we show that tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv Moneymaker) mutants with reduced ABA levels (sitiens plants) are much more resistant to the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea than wild-type (WT) plants. Exogenous application of ABA restored susceptibility to B. cinere...
